Ep 155: What I've Learned about Implementing a Cancellation Policy at my Private Practice

Do you have a private practice? Are you considering opening one?

Canceled appointments can be frustrating as they reduce your income - especially when they are late notice. So, let's make a plan to address this common issue.

In this episode, Sarah walks you through specific situations in which cancels occur and what to do about them in private practice, including:

  • Families who cancel for a lot of the summer

  • Families who often cancel for illness

  • Families who don't give 24 hour notice

Update: I'm no longer scheduling for 6 extra sessions per week for cancels, I'm doing more like 3. That said, I need to bump it up to 4-5 extra sessions (once you listen to the episode, you'll understand the context). Cancellation rates are a moving target, so I'm still adjusting.
